Friends of IMUMA is a U.S.-based organization dedicated to supporting IMUMA, a center for orphans and vulnerable children in the village of Bagamoyo on Tanzania's east coast.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of these children and ensuring that IMUMA is able to provide a safe and loving environment.  Please browse this website to learn more about IMUMA and how it is working to change the lives of the children in its community.

 

Recent News

May 2009 - New York Fundraiser and Use of Funds

We had a successful fundraiser in New York and raised over $2,800 for IMUMA.  IMUMA plans to use these funds to purchase food, upgrade the toilets, pay off the electric bill and, most promisingly, purchase a brick-making machine to rent out. 

April 2009 - New Website Launch

We recently launched our new website. We invite you to take a look around the website and tell your friends to come see us too by using our new Spread the Word website tool.

March 2009 - Kitchen Completed

IMUMA is proud to announce that it has completed construction of its kitchen.  IMUMA now has a sanititary area to prepare meals for the children.  IMUMA hopes to add a dining area soon.
